Albert truly had little interest in fame. As Hagrid had said, he was famous enough already.
Still, the fame he had gained from killing Voldemort left Albert somewhat displeased. He was not someone who enjoyed fighting and killing, after all. It would have been far better if he could become world-famous like Miranda Goshawk, rather than relying on murder.
Of course, there were many reasons why he was compiling a Defence Against the Dark Arts Textbook. Fame was merely a side benefit.
"You're compiling a Defence Against the Dark Arts Textbook?" Hermione blinked curiously. This was the first time she had heard anyone mention it.
"It was something Dumbledore asked me to do before he died."
Albert glanced at Sprout and Hagrid, who had both perked up their ears, then calmly explained to the three of them, "You must have heard some of the rumours surrounding Defense Against the Dark Arts, right?"
"You mean the rumour that the subject was cursed?" Professor Sprout knew a little about it.
"I heard Harry mention that the curse on the subject had something to do with Voldemort." Hermione shared what she knew with the other two. "It seemed that fifty years ago, Voldemort applied to become the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, but Dumbledore rejected him outright. Voldemort flew into a rage and cursed the post, which meant that afterward, no Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor could remain at Hogwarts for more than one semester."
"That was roughly how it happened," Albert said, nodding in agreement with Hermione before adding, "After Voldemort died, the curse became water without a source and soon vanished completely. Just like Harry Potter's Lightning Scar—I imagine that after Voldemort died, Harry's scar stopped hurting as well."
