Having an office of his own was rather nice. Some private matters truly required a private space, especially now that the Room of Requirement on the Eighth Floor of Hogwarts Castle had been completely exposed. He needed an office like this even more.
As for the office's location and layout being less than ideal, Albert did not care in the slightest. After all, it was an office the other professors had passed over, so this was perfectly normal. Besides, he likely would not use it very often during his tenure as Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor.
After speaking with Professor McGonagall, Albert took his leave of Hogwarts Castle. It was not that he had failed to notice her goodwill and invitation; he simply had no desire to stay. All he could do was apologize to her in his heart.
Though Albert did not mind teaching others, he truly had no interest in becoming a professor at Hogwarts. Spending all his time in education was better avoided. Albert had never believed he possessed that kind of patience or perseverance. More than anyone, he knew he had only come to Hogwarts to go through the motions.
Before returning home, Albert made another trip to Avalon and delivered the latest batch of Butterbeer ordered from Diagon Alley.
In weather this scorching, chilled drinks had always been indispensable for beating the heat. Albert never mistreated his own people, either. Everyone had worked hard on Avalon's construction, so naturally he would not begrudge them a few Galleons.
If you wanted to be the leader, do not be stingy.
