One day in mid-November, Hogwarts's annual Quidditch Match began beneath a torrential downpour.
Countless blurry black figures darted back and forth through the rain on broomsticks. Every goal drew deafening cheers, and as Albert stepped into the stands with an umbrella, he felt as though he had returned to his school days.
Then again, he had only graduated from Hogwarts not long ago!
What was with this strange sense of being displaced in time?
Was it because he had gotten married? Brushing aside the odd thought, Albert walked beneath his umbrella toward the stands on the right, where he had arranged to meet Cedric.
Honestly, if Cedric had not been a friend, Albert would have pretended not to know. If they had something to discuss, they could have done it in an office. Why insist on coming to this godforsaken place on a rainy day?
What Albert hated most was coming out to watch a Quidditch Match in the rain. It made him feel like an idiot. Why should he let himself get soaked and catch a cold? Cedric seemed not to notice Albert's arrival, his eyes still glued to the Binoculars as he watched the fierce Quidditch Match ahead, muttering something under his breath.
Only after quite some time did he seem to suddenly realize someone was standing nearby. He lowered the Binoculars and said with a smile, "You came. I thought you wouldn't."
Albert suddenly wanted to hit him, only to hear Cedric add, "I remember you never really liked playing Quidditch in the rain."
"Then why did you ask me to come watch a Quidditch Match in the rain?" Albert asked irritably. "What did you want?"
Amid another burst of cheers, Cedric said softly, "Looks like Hufflepuff will win big."
