After hearing Albert's reason for coming, Cedric fell silent. He even wondered whether he had misheard, but once he remembered that it was Albert saying it, he accepted it.
Coming to ask him to cover classes because he needed to attend the International Wizarding Federation conference really was the sort of thing Albert would do.

Cedric suddenly had the urge to cover his face. He had probably never imagined that something like this would happen to him in his lifetime.
After letting out a heavy sigh inwardly, Cedric gloomily suggested, "If you need me to cover your classes again, please make up any excuse you like."
Anyone who needed to ask him to cover their classes because they had to attend an International Wizarding Federation conference would leave Cedric completely numb.
He did not even know what to say.
Albert's reason was simply impossible to argue with! "Fine."
Cedric waved Albert away. "It's not like this is the first time."
"There's nothing I can do about it. You know I'm not really interested in this crap, but sometimes things just aren't up to me." Albert wore an annoyingly punchable expression that said he definitely had not done it on purpose.

Cedric could not help rolling his eyes at Albert. For some reason, he felt so irritated!
So before Albert could say anything else, Cedric beat him to it and "invited" him out of his office.
