"Looks like there's nothing here?"

Daphne gazed at the wilderness before her and turned a puzzled look toward her close friend. She didn't think Alice would joke with her.

"There's powerful Protective Magic around Avalon. Ordinary wizards can't find the village without permission."

As she spoke, Alice took a pass from her pocket and handed it to Daphne, explaining, "They say it's to prevent Avalon's residents from suffering retaliation from Voldemort's Remnants."

"What's this?"

Daphne accepted the metal card and examined the emblem of crossed wands on it.

"Proof of entry to Avalon!"

Daphne had just been about to say that she still couldn't see Avalon when Alice grabbed her and led her forward.

Then Daphne discovered in astonishment that a layer of mist had appeared out of nowhere before them, as though Avalon's gates were silently opening for her.

"Welcome to Avalon."

Alice took Daphne's hand and led her toward the gatehouse at the entrance, smiling as she greeted Truman, who was on duty that day. "Mr. Truman, this is my friend from Hogwarts, Daphne Greengrass. I mentioned her to you before."

"Welcome to Avalon, Miss Greengrass. Please sign in at the Visitor Section," Truman said gently.

"Does everyone who comes here have to sign in?" Daphne asked curiously after writing her name.

"It's one of Avalon's security measures. If an outside visitor harbors ill intentions or deliberately conceals their identity, we'll be able to root them out soon enough."

Daphne was amazed by Avalon's security, but her attention was quickly captured by the fairy-tale-like village before her.

Having visited Old Dilapidated Alley, Diagon Alley, and the gloomy ancient castle of Hogwarts, she knew perfectly well how out of place Avalon was in the wizarding world. They were completely different styles.
