The second task of the Triwizard Tournament would begin at the end of February. However, Durmstrang was still terrifyingly cold at this time of year.
Most of the "Cheerleading Squads" who had come to Durmstrang with their headmasters to "tour" the place could not endure the extreme cold.
No, it would be more accurate to say that Northern Europe's freezing weather was simply not something ordinary tourists could adapt to.
Even with Hagrid's attentive care, the flying horses pulling the carriages on both sides had become listless from the cold. Beauxbatons had it even worse, with quite a few flying horses falling ill because of it.
That was why whoever had come up with the First Task definitely had something wrong with their head.
Still, the Second Task was not much better.
The snowy, freezing weather was not only a tremendous challenge for the Champions, but also a test for Durmstrang's students.
All the students complained about why the school had not picked better weather, but they seemed to subconsciously overlook the fact that Durmstrang could not find many good-weather days during this season.
Thus, under the professors' organization, Durmstrang's students had no choice but to wrap themselves in their thickest fur cloaks and brave the wind and snow to watch the match in the newly built arena.
Fortunately, the arena was on the dried grass field near the school, so it did not take long to walk there.
It was just unknown whether they had done it to save money or effort, but the arena for the Second Task had been built from solid winter ice.
It looked quite beautiful, though the only problem was that it somehow felt even colder.
Of course, since the damned weather was already cold enough, whether it was built from solid ice did
