In the library, Harry, who had been absentmindedly working on his holiday homework, secretly glanced at the Marauder's Map tucked inside his book. When he saw that everyone gathered in the Headmaster's Office had left, he immediately perked up and sprang to his feet, knocking over his chair in the process. The loud crash drew the attention of all the students doing their holiday homework in the library.

Ron and Hermione, who had been diligently working on their holiday homework, both turned to look at Harry as he packed up his books. Seemingly realizing something, they began gathering their things as well.

Ron wanted to go see how the appeal had gone, while Hermione was worried the two of them would cause unnecessary trouble at a critical moment.
