"Who's out there?"
Hearing a knock at the door downstairs, Katrina instinctively leaned out of the window, trying to see who was knocking outside.
Normally, hardly anyone came to their house.
Yet there was no one at the door!
Katrina seemed to realize something. A chill ran through her body, and she regretted her rash move just now. She hurriedly grabbed the wand from the table and, while breathing a sigh of relief, strained her ears for any sounds nearby.
Was someone downstairs?
"Who could it be?"
Ordinary visitors would not barge into someone else's home without the owner's permission.
The red-haired girl immediately raised her guard to the utmost. Ever since Isobel had run off somewhere with Albert, she had been alone in the large house most of the time.
There was no way Katrina could remain calm when a stranger suddenly came calling. Isobel had once told her that Fake Moody, whom Albert had dealt with in the Third Task maze, was a Death Eater. It was quite possible that Lord Voldemort's lackeys would seek revenge.
Logically speaking, even if Lord Voldemort wanted revenge, he would be targeting Albert Anderson. What did it have to do with her family? The Anderson family had emigrated overseas, and even Lord Voldemort would find it difficult to cross continents and locate Albert's relatives. That left only Isobel McDougal, who was connected to Albert.
Though they were only boyfriend and girlfriend at the moment, who knew whether they might be implicated? It was hard to say just how low Lord Voldemort and his followers' moral limits were.
The bottom of the stairs was terrifyingly silent. Katrina hesitated over whether to retreat for now. She currently held the advantageous position on the stairs and could Apparate away at any time.
