Isobel stepped forward and reached out to straighten Albert's robes. Ignoring her sister behind her, she kissed him on the lips, then earnestly reminded him, "Be careful."
"You too." Albert smiled. "I'm off."
Today was the final day of the International Wizard Duelling Competition. Albert had never been in the habit of lowering his guard before the end. Even though he had already seen himself win the championship in the crystal ball, he still did not dare relax for a moment. Some enemies would suddenly appear and deal you a fatal blow just when you thought victory was certain and let your guard down.
It was a clichéd plot, but no less deadly for it.

Watching Albert's departing back, Katrina turned to Isobel in confusion.
After watching the matches for two days straight, she had gained some understanding of Albert's true strength. The man was both cautious and formidable. He did not need anyone worrying about him at all.
