"Did you just go out?"
As soon as he returned home, Albert was caught by Isobel.
"I just went out to buy a few things. Don't worry, I used Polyjuice Potion."
"Why didn't you have Kara buy them for you?"
Isobel felt that Albert was not telling the truth, or at least not the whole truth.
"I stopped by Hogsmeade and picked up a few things from an old friend." Albert stepped forward to hug Isobel, only for her to dodge him.
"Don't worry. I've always been perfectly capable of protecting myself."
"You're getting fonder of lying." Isobel said expressionlessly.
"I'm telling the truth."
Albert had indeed told the truth. He simply had not told all of it.
He took the bag from the house-elf, pulled out the gift he had bought for Isobel, and smiled as he held it out to his girlfriend.
"You'll definitely like what I bought you."
"What is it?"
Taking the paper bag Albert handed her, Isobel opened it and glanced at its contents. After hesitating for a moment, she ultimately did not take anything out.
"You don't like it?" Albert asked.
"I'm not eating it." Isobel said with a straight face. She suspected Albert was trying to make her fat.
"I'll feed you."
With a grin, Albert rummaged through the paper bag and took out some ice cream. Then he turned to the house-elf behind him. "Kara, go find Katrina and tell her I brought dessert for everyone."
"Yes, Master."
After setting down the bag, the house-elf turned and left the hall.
"Come on, ah!" Albert said, opening his mouth.
"Stop changing the subject." Isobel turned her head aside, avoiding the spoon Albert held out.
