Team Leader (Part Two)

After hearing the whole story, Chu Chen shook his head and sighed. Such was society nowadays. Even he felt helpless about some things and was powerless to do anything.

He stopped thinking about it and asked, "Since that's the case, why didn't you tell me about your team leader sooner?"

Hu Yong scratched his head and said with an embarrassed grin, "Wasn't it because you've never liked having bodyguards around you?"

Chu Chen chuckled when he heard this. That was indeed his own problem. Then he asked, "So my uncle never tried to recruit him?"

Hu Yong sighed. "I took Manager Zhao to the team leader's home back then, but perhaps because of what he experienced at his former job, the team leader had become disillusioned with certain things and refused us on the spot."

Hearing this, Chu Chen immediately understood that the man had allowed his resentment toward one person to spill over onto others. "Then when we go this time, are you confident you can get him to work for me?"

Hu Yong gave an awkward smile. "We'll give it a try. I don't know whether it'll work out!"

Chu Chen shook his head and laughed. "Then there's a good chance we'll be making a wasted trip."

Hu Yong scratched his head, looking rather embarrassed. He had actually wanted to settle the matter before telling Chu Chen, but a few days ago, when he called the team leader's home, the team leader had neither agreed nor refused. Hu Yong was afraid that saying too much would make the man dislike him, so he had thought it would be better to discuss it in person with Chu Chen. That would also show more sincerity.

"Brother Chu, I'll do my best!"

"Just do your best. Even if he refuses, I
