Pan Bin opened the box. Inside was what appeared to be a pair of Hare's Fur Cups. They were fairly large, with mouths about fifteen centimeters in diameter, wide openings, rounded bellies, and glossy black glaze. The hare's-fur pattern was distinct, making them a fine pair of Hare's Fur Cups.
Seeing the pair, Lu Chuanyou immediately exclaimed, "They're actually a pair of Jian Kiln Hare's Fur Cups. What great pieces!"
Pan Bin said with a beaming smile, "Take another careful look. Are these really Jian Kiln Hare's Fur Cups?"
Lu Chuanyou was startled. He quickly picked up one of the cups and examined it closely. During this time, Chu Chen also picked up the other one and inspected it carefully.
After looking it over, Lu Chuanyou frowned. "The glaze color is already about the same as that of Jian Kiln's Hare's Fur Cups, but the body is different from Jian Kiln's. What kiln did these come from?"
Pan Bin smiled. "Old Lu, if you want to switch from calligraphy and painting to porcelain, you'll have to work a lot harder. You don't even recognize a famous northern kiln with a thousand-year history of porcelain production. If word got out, people would laugh at you."
Lu Chuanyou chuckled. "Right now, I'm mainly studying Ming and Qing Official Kiln porcelain. I really don't know much about some regional kilns. Old Pan, why don't you tell me about them?"
When Pan Bin failed to answer and instead looked at him, Chu Chen said, "These should be a pair of Jiexiu Kiln Hare's Fur Cups imitating Jian Kiln, shouldn't they?"
Lu Chuanyou was unconvinced. "Jiexiu Kiln? That seems unlikely. Wasn't that kiln famous for its white porcelain? Could its black porcelain really have reached such a high level too?"
Jiexiu Kiln was a relatively
