The groundwork for Sun Wutian is completely finished with this chapter. From now on, whenever he appears, it will be entirely as part of the plot. But every part of that plot will take these several rounds of groundwork as its starting point.
Sun Wutian is an extremely complicated person.
This character turned out somewhat differently from what I had expected myself.
From the moment Sun Yuan first appeared at the beginning, I started laying down Sun Wutian's thread.
Sun Yuan's appearance—Sun Family—entering the Martial Academy by way of the Blood Spirit Ginseng—Blood Spirit Awakening—Divine Phaseless Jade—the Sun Family south of the city—the Hate Heaven Saber...
Then, hundreds of chapters later, the character truly appeared, followed by the Heart Piercing Blade breaking Hate Heaven and making the Hate Heaven Saber Fang Che's exclusive weapon.
This was Sun Wutian's thread as I had set it up beforehand, but I only planned it as far as the Heart Piercing Blade.
As for how things ended up like this, that developed gradually as the plot progressed. I hadn't thought that far ahead at the time—that's simply the truth.
It was only when I wrote the Heart Piercing Blade that I came up with new plans. But those new plans were pushed out of me by the plot, so they no longer counted as being within my control.
Under the new plan, Sun Wutian's groundwork should have been completed two volumes from now, with the Black-Clothed Fang's Authority volume being the point where it reached completion, which would have matched my expectations.
