New Rules
The reason Luo Jun asked was because he was worried that his attributes were too strong. If he was the only one like this, he would inevitably attract attention in the future, and they might even trace the Dice of Heavenly Secrets back to him.
"No..." Old Yuan shook his head, and Luo Jun's heart tightened.
"People's constitutions cannot be generalized. It's not strange for the occasional freak with extraordinary talent to appear." Not noticing Luo Jun's concern, Old Yuan calmly said, "Over the years, I've encountered quite a few freaks. Most couldn't compare to you. But there was one whose natural physique far surpassed yours."
"Far surpassed mine?" Luo Jun was stunned. All my attributes are four or five times those of an ordinary person now. What kind of monster would it take to far surpass me? He wanted to ask further, but he saw a trace of painful recollection between Old Yuan's brows.
No matter what, as long as he wasn't the only case, it was fine.
Next, Old Yuan taught Luo Jun some more about circulating his Vital Energy. When the time came, Old Yuan activated his Treasure Tool, turned into a phantom, and left this world.
Luo Jun took a deep breath. From here on out, I can only rely on myself!
Then, he opened the Attribute Panel.
His previous breakthrough to Great Success had given him quite a lot of experience, raising him another level. But in front of Old Yuan, he had not dared to allocate his attribute points, afraid that a sudden change in his physique would arouse suspicion.
After all, that Old Geezer could even notice a hole in his underwear. If he realized Luo Jun's physique had inexplicably grown stronger and connected it with his "extraordinary talent," he would most likely guess that Luo Jun was hiding some special secret.
As his level rose, Luo Jun came to understand the functions of the Dice of Heavenly Secrets more and more thoroughly. Attribute points gained from leveling up did not have to be allocated immediately. He could delay them until his next level-up, but if he still did not allocate them then, the system would force him to do so.
Of course, situations where he gained a huge amount of experience at once and rose several levels in a row were exceptions.
The White Dice spun, finally landing on four. Another nine attribute points were his.
His attributes were now as follows.
Name: Luo Jun Level: Level 9 (366/1000) Strength: 29 points Agility: 23 points Perception: 24 points Spirit: 25 points Luck: Level 6 Skills: All Things are Dice, Beginner Point Correction Items: None Chips: 0 Uses: 5/5
Worth mentioning, the improvements to his physique from Body Refinement Realm tempering were not reflected in his attributes. Luo Jun guessed that these were enhancements from different dimensions. If so, then when he added attribute points, the Body Refinement Realm's enhancement to his physique should increase in tandem.
If the first layer was 100%, then the attributes he could actually bring out should be double what the panel showed. In other words, all his attributes were effectively around fifty now, more than ten times that of an ordinary person!
And that did not even include the boost from the Vital Energy within his body.
Luo Jun looked at his hands. Who could have imagined that just yesterday at this time, he had still been an obscure poor student with a bleak future? Yet in merely half a day, he had undergone a complete transformation and stepped into the world of the extraordinary!
But the top priority was still to complete the mission and return to reality.
On the First Floor of the shopping mall, Old Yuan's figure appeared before everyone as a phantom emerged.
"You're back!" Captain Cheng was the first to step forward. "How did it go?"
"It's a bit troublesome." Old Yuan sighed. "It's a Tier B rule-based survival mission."
"Rule-based survival? That's not hard!" Xiao Meng, dressed in sportswear, spoke bluntly. "My first mission was that kind too. As long as you don't break the rules, what's so impressive about it?"
Sha Sha, wearing sunglasses beside him, gave a cold snort. "Nothing impressive? Back then, I don't know who got so scared his voice changed!"
Xiao Meng's face reddened. "You... don't slander me out of nowhere!"
"If it's a Tier C or Tier D rule-based mission, the difficulty really isn't high." A cool voice interrupted their argument. Ling Xin pondered, "Tier B... it probably involves True-False Rules, doesn't it?"
Old Yuan nodded. "That isn't my strong suit. All I could do was calm him down and give him some advice. But this kid has good qualities, and unlike what you said, he actually has some foundation in Vital Energy. He only started recently, though, and he usually hides it carefully, so it isn't easy to notice."
Hearing this, Ling Xin frowned slightly. Old Yuan smiled. "Don't worry, I didn't mention you. He doesn't know that you're the Golden Edge Witch who sliced the Polluter to death with several streaks of golden light."
Ling Xin's brows relaxed slightly, and she nodded. Yet deep in her eyes remained a hint of doubt.
"All we can do now is wait," Old Yuan said. "His mission requires him to get out within Twenty-four Hours, but he won't have a chance until after six tomorrow morning."
Captain Cheng lit a cigarette. "I'll make arrangements immediately and try to get the mall closed for the day. Even if that kid suddenly comes back, he won't cause a commotion. Hao Yong, take some people and guard this place. The moment you see him, bring him to me..."
Halfway through, Captain Cheng suddenly froze. Turning his head, he found everyone looking at him. Muscular Man Hao Yong was even waggling his eyebrows at him, seemingly trying to remind him of something. Captain Cheng instantly understood and looked at Old Yuan, his face turning a little pale.
"Go smoke somewhere else!" Old Yuan barked.
Captain Cheng shrank back, shielding the cigarette with his hand as he slunk away.
At six in the morning, Midnight Hotel's closed period finally ended.
Luo Jun had not slept at all that night. He had gone through a great deal that day and had barely eaten anything. Normally, he should have been exhausted and starving. But thanks to the Dice of Heavenly Secrets' upgraded full-health function, he was in exceptionally good condition.
Leveling up did not merely heal injuries; it also nourished the body, replenishing energy and relieving fatigue. Combined with Luo Jun's current attributes and the effects of his Vital Energy, he was full of vigor. Missing one night of sleep had no effect on him at all.
Once it was past six, he should normally have been able to leave his room, but he still could not check out. According to the Front Desk's rules, it was breakfast time, but Luo Jun was not hungry and did not want to create unnecessary trouble.
Should I stay in my room until ten before checking out?
Thinking this, Luo Jun walked to the door.
"Hm?" Luo Jun frowned as he discovered that the rules on the paper stuck to the door had changed!
That made sense. The rules on the paper last night had all been about the closed period. Now that the closed period was over, there would naturally be a new set of rules!
Luo Jun moved closer and read carefully.
Good morning. We hope you had a pleasant night.
It is now the activity period. To ensure your safety and provide you with an enjoyable stay, please observe the following rules:
First, the activity period lasts from 6:00 to 22:00 every day. During the activity period, you may move about within the Hotel and go anywhere that is not expressly forbidden.
Second, breakfast is served from 6:00 to 10:00 every day. The Hotel provides only this one meal each day. If you do not wish to feel hungry, please go to the First Floor Dining Hall to eat promptly. Other than the Dining Hall, this Hotel does not provide food in any form. Even if you see food, do not buy it, much less eat it.
Third, during the activity period, you may not remain in a Guest Room for more than one consecutive hour. After leaving the Guest Room, you must stay outside for at least as long as you previously stayed in the Guest Room before you may return.
Fourth, no matter how tired you feel, do not sleep in the Guest Room.
Fifth, if you feel hungry, please eat within half an hour. If it is not currently Dining Hall service hours, contact the Front Desk within fifteen minutes to obtain Sleeping Pill. It will help you sleep until the Dining Hall opens next time.
Sixth, hunger and fatigue are both dangerous signals, but as a human, I suggest that you choose the latter.
