What's going on?

Granted, most buildings in the [Game] world possessed indestructible properties, but that applied only to structures that were originally part of the Worldview... Put simply, only buildings planned by this world's creator were protected by the rules.

This fortress, however, had been built by humans to defend against monsters emerging from the Sky-Piercing Tower. As a human-made construction, it was not indestructible!

Otherwise, they could have completely sealed off the Sky-Piercing Tower by building a thin wall around it. Why would they need to go to all the trouble of conquering it?
