Zhuo Wanhao and Shen Chuan took the compass into the Mining Area to find the killer who had slain so many overseers and Patrol Team members.
Guided by the compass, they found one Cave Devil Worm after another.
None of the Cave Devil Worms was especially strong. The three God Tribulation Realm experts had already cleared out the powerful ones.
The remaining worms posed little threat to the two of them.
Over the next few days, they cleared the Cave Devil Worms from the center of the Mining Area.
After killing the last one, they stopped.
"What the hell is going on? Where's the killer? Why haven't we found him?"
Zhuo Wanhao flew into a rage. His furious roar echoed through the mine tunnel, shaking loose fragments of rock from the walls.
Layer upon layer of fat quivered with his shouting. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like an enraged beast.
They had spent months moving the array, then several more days clearing out the Cave Devil Worms.
Yet they still hadn't found the killer.
Shen Chuan put away the compass and said grimly, "Either he has a divine artifact that surpasses the Profound Mystery Grand Array, or he's outside its range."
"The odds of him having such a high-grade artifact are slim. Most likely, he slipped away while we were setting up the array."
At those words, blood rushed to Zhuo Wanhao's head. He nearly fainted with rage.
They had spent so long setting up the array, and the bastard had run away!
