Mud Flew!
When Jiang Xia returned home, Mother Zhou was sweeping the alley.
In the courtyard, Guang Zong Yao Zu and the others were each holding rice cakes and feeding the Triplets, coaxing them to call out "Older Brother," "Older Sister," "Grandpa," and "Grandma."
Jiang Xia expertly backed the car into the garage, got out, walked over, and asked with a smile, "Can they call people yet?"
The siblings answered excitedly, "They can! Little Sister can say 'Older Sister,' Er Bao can say 'Older Brother,' and only Da Bao won't open his mouth."
They demonstrated for Jiang Xia, taking away the rice cakes and coaxing their little sister and brother to call people.
The little girl stared at the rice cakes, waving her hands and feet impatiently. "Older Sister."
Zhou Wenguang asked, "Did she really say it?"
Jiang Xia smiled and nodded. Although the pronunciation wasn't quite accurate, it did sound a little like it. "It seems so."
"Not 'it seems so'—she really can say it!! Older Brother and Older Sister, she can say them both!"
Mother Zhou came in just then and said to Jiang Xia, "Xiao Xia, the Village Chief said a big businessman from Hong Kong Island is coming to our village to donate money for building a school and roads. Everyone in the village has gone out to sweep. I'm going to the dock to lend a hand."
Jiang Xia hurriedly said, "Mom, I'll go sweep. You stay home and watch the children!"
It was almost time for the children to sleep, so there was really no need to watch them.
Their schedules had been cultivated very well since they were little,
and they could already fall asleep on their own. Once they were full and put back in their cribs, they could play by themselves
