Though he appears to be a middle-aged man in a black martial-arts uniform, he is actually eighty years old and a powerful Source Martialist. He has students throughout the world and holds a high reputation within Jiangbei Province. 62

He attended the selection of young talents from Jiangbei Province, stating that he had come to observe the province's promising youths. His gaze exerted overwhelming pressure on Li Yuan and the other students. 62

Ming later became Li Yuan's teacher, guiding him on his early cultivation choices. He advised Li Yuan to focus on spear-technique manuals rather than pursuing too many manuals at once, and selected four Tier 2 spear manuals for him: Cloud-Controlling Spear Technique, True Flame Spear Technique, Meteor Spear Technique, and Gold-Splitting Spear Technique. 113
