Moon Embracing Pavilion.
In the brightly lit room, a slender figure stood before the window, moonlight spilling over her.
That figure was Ji Mingyue.
She wore a plain white gown that trailed to the floor. Her long black hair simply fell loose to her waist, unstyled.
Hearing movement behind her, she slowly turned around.
Jiang Ning saw her calm eyes.
The next moment, emotion flooded her eyes. Her gaze brightened, her brows curved, and her smile blossomed like a flower.
The room's formerly oppressive atmosphere suddenly brightened with that smile.
"Brother Jiang Ning, you're here!" Ji Mingyue said, her eyes shining.
"Long time no see!" Jiang Ning's heart stirred slightly, and a faint smile appeared on his face.
"Long time no see!" Ji Mingyue walked over with her hands behind her back, rising slightly onto her toes. "It seems I still haven't grown any taller."
Jiang Ning smiled and reached up to rub her head.
"Why did you ask to see me today?"
"For no reason! I just missed you!" Ji Mingyue's eyes shone brightly.
"Did someone wrong you?" Jiang Ning rubbed her head.
At those words, Ji Mingyue's eyes immediately reddened slightly, a mist rising in them.
"Is it related to your brother?" Jiang Ning asked again.
"No!" Ji Mingyue shook her head. "It isn't!"
Then the mist in her eyes quickly faded, and her pupils regained their clarity.
"I just missed you. I wanted you to have a little wine with me!" Ji Mingyue said.
"Alright." Jiang Ning nodded without saying anything more.
