The sky was dim.
The rain poured down like a waterfall.
Now and then, thunder flashed, illuminating the ground in a deathly white glare.
Then rolling thunder came rumbling after it.
Luyi stood to one side, holding an Oil-Paper Umbrella over Jiang Ning. Half her shoulder had already been drenched by the rain, making her look rather pitiful.
Jiang Ning, however, did not notice this at all. He was looking down at the letter the messenger had just delivered, wrapped in oiled paper.
Who could it be? he murmured.
He then unfolded the carefully wrapped oiled paper and took out the letter inside.
"To brother Jiang, personally. Sent by Wang Qinghan."
"Her? Wang Qinghan?" One of the Wang Family Double Pearls, that young girl, instantly appeared in Jiang Ning's mind.
"What could she have written to me about?" Another question flashed through his mind.
He opened the envelope where he stood and took out the neatly folded Letter Paper.
As the Letter Paper emerged, the faint fragrance of pine ink lingered at the tip of his nose.
Jiang Ning glanced over it, quickly reading the few hundred tiny words on the Letter Paper.
"I see!" he murmured.
The words Lu Junyi had spoken to him at the Nine Heavens Pavilion earlier instantly rang out in his mind.
Wang Qingtan's Master wanted to act as a matchmaker and marry Wang Qingtan to the Second Son of Prince Huai'an. At the time, Lu Junyi had said that he wanted to stop this and would need to invite Ye Zhengqi or Shen Wenyuan to intervene.
One was a Fourth Blood Exchange Six Harmonies Heavenly Human Grandmaster, while the other had just been conferred a Marquis title and was a Second Rank Great Grandmaster of the current age.
No matter which of the two
