Wuji was not at all surprised by this.
This was a special innate gift of the Wuji Dao Body. Since it could shut out all external interference, it naturally fell within reason that it would not be locked onto by heavenly tribulation.
Of course, all of this had to be founded upon one's cultivation and strength.
It was not as though stepping onto the Dao of Wuji meant one would truly become invincible in the world and transcend all things beyond it.
If the heavenly tribulation was too powerful, or if an enemy's cultivation far surpassed his own, then even the most heaven-defying method would be useless.
Especially against an existence like the Xuan Family Old Ancestor at late Great Ascension—even crushing his current self would be no harder than crushing an ant.

As for how the Dao of Wuji should be cultivated going forward, he had originally been quite concerned. But after personally experiencing the almost nonexistent Wuji Dharma Manifestation and Wuji Dao Vein, he understood completely.

Yet one point was beyond doubt: to forge the Dao path of Wuji in defiance of convention, neither the Yin-Yang Body, the Yin-Yang Dharma Manifestation, nor the Yin-Yang Dao Track could be absent.
In short, the Yin-Yang origin within him was the absolute foundation of everything before him.
And one must not forget that although Wuji could now represent only nonexistence, it had once also contained the endowment of existence.
Therefore, Wuji's specific cultivation path was in fact exceedingly clear.
