Both mother and daughter immediately made the same move—they first covered the area with their respective field magic. But Ur made one additional move. She spread both hands and shouted:
" I haven't had time to teach you this move yet, but teaching you now works just as well."
"Blizzard!"
A vast expanse of ice-made roses quickly spread from the shore across the surface of the sea. The Rose Gardens released by the two merged the instant they came into contact, and then a blizzard began to swirl from Ur's direction.
Ultear sensed that something was wrong the moment the blizzard touched her. It was far too bitterly cold. After moving her hands slightly, Ultear felt her movements becoming somewhat restricted.
Looking at the ice-made roses covering the land and the blizzard filling the sky, Allen asked Erza and Jellal, "Do you understand now why elemental mages should use field magic as their opening move?"
Erza and Jellal watched as Ultear immediately fell into a disadvantage after clashing with Ur, with the blizzard clearly restricting her. After thinking for a moment, Jellal answered first: "Because it creates favorable conditions for battle. That way, even a mage with the same attribute will be restricted by the battlefield. If a mage with the same attribute can be suppressed, then an opposing attribute basically has no chance of victory under these conditions."
Allen nodded and continued explaining: "Ur and Ultear both used field magic, but it's obvious that Ultear's Rose Garden has been suppressed. That's the difference in magical power, and the difference between a Ten Saint and an S-Class Mage. In a battle like this, if you're restricted, you have to find a way to break through the predicament, just like Ultear is doing now."
After hearing Allen's words, Erza and Jellal
