Background / History
Sword Pavilion emerged from the cooperation of several young Sun Moon Academy talents during the destruction of a Holy Spirit Cult stronghold near Mingdu. Their combined assault—Ji Juechen’s rule-severing sword, Ye Guyi’s sacred purification, Xiao Hongchen’s Soul Tool firepower, Jing Ziyan’s control, Nana’s assassination, Meng Hongchen’s poison, and Huo Yuhao’s support—demonstrated enough power and cohesion to attract imperial attention 56.
Jing Hongchen formally established the group after the operation. Ji Juechen accepted its central role, stating that while trouble required a sword to sever, “the person wielding the sword needs the Sword Pavilion.” Huo Yuhao declined membership because of his separate path but pledged himself as its external ally. Jing Yu completed the roster as the team’s prophetic and informational “Mirror” 56.
The newly formed Seven Heroes represented the Sun Moon Empire at the Dragon City Grand Auction, acquiring materials needed for imperial Soul Tool research and confronting competition from other major factions 57 58. Following the Body Sect’s attack on Mingde Hall, the team prepared for an exchange visit to Shrek Academy, intended to display imperial strength, conduct technical exchange and reconnaissance, and temper the group against elite opponents 63.
At Shrek, Sword Pavilion defeated Shrek’s reserve team in a sparring match through disciplined formation tactics and Ji Juechen’s decisive intervention. The exchange also exposed both sides to each other’s philosophies on Soul Tools, warfare, Martial Souls, and the Dao 78 81 84.
During the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament, Sword Pavilion narrowly defeated the Body Sect and reached the final against Tang Sect. The Body Sect battle left Ji Juechen unconscious after his final sword strike, demonstrating that the team could not rely solely on its captain despite his centrality 93 96 98.
After the Sun Moon Empire began its war, Sword Pavilion became a deep-penetration unit specializing in infiltration, decapitation, logistics disruption, and sabotage. Its operations against Redwood Town, Black Cloud Valley, the Ring of Giant Trees, and other Star Luo rear nodes made it a key component of the empire’s “Anvil and Hammer” strategy 105 114 115 117 120 121.
The Ring of Giant Trees operation nearly destroyed the team. Ji Juechen was severely injured and unconscious, yet temporarily transmitted combat intent through the Team Command Link, guiding the others at the cost of his life force. Rather than abandon him during their subsequent escape through the Western Frontier Desert, the team rejected Huo Yuhao’s offer to withdraw without their captain 125 131 140.
After returning to the empire, Sword Pavilion received public honors and Soul Bone rewards, but Empress Ju Zi later divided the group: Ji Juechen was sent to oversee the eastern provinces, while the other members were attached to her Fire Phoenix Soul Engineer Corps 141 160. The team eventually reunited in Hidden Sword Valley, where Ji Juechen distributed divine cultivation resources to his companions before preparing to sever the path to the God Realm 201.

Abilities & Skills
Combined-Arms Formation
Sword Pavilion operates through strict role division rather than relying on a single combat style. Its standard formations place Ji Juechen at the spearhead, control and Soul Tool firepower in the center, stealth elements on the flanks, and sacred or information support in the rear 78 98.
- Ji Juechen breaks enemy momentum, defenses, energy links, and key combat nodes.
- Jing Ziyan disrupts enemy movement and Soul Power control with Purple Smoke.
- Xiao Hongchen supplies sustained artillery, barriers, and Soul Tool support.
- Meng Hongchen provides mobile ambush and cold-based pressure.
- Nana scouts, infiltrates, assassinates, and interferes with spiritual detection.
- Ye Guyi purifies evil or negative energy and protects allies with Sacred power.
- Jing Yu provides battlefield replay, limited future glimpses, and route guidance. 56 111
Team Command Link
The team employs a command network that allows rapid transmission of orders, positioning, timing, and tactical information. It is central to their ability to maneuver as a cohesive unit during infiltration and battlefield engagements 111 115 117.
- Supports concise, real-time tactical commands from Ji Juechen.
- Integrates Jing Yu’s information processing and Nana’s reconnaissance.
- Enabled Ji Juechen to transmit incomplete Sword Intents and temporarily direct the team while unconscious.
- Requires the team to maintain coordination and trust under pressure. 125
Absolute Information Advantage
Sword Pavilion’s organizational strength lies in combining reconnaissance, precognition, Soul Tool analysis, tactical deduction, and battlefield control into a single decision-making system 56.
- Jing Yu identifies hidden “threads” of danger, fate, and possible routes.
- Nana gathers stealth and spiritual reconnaissance data.
- Ji Juechen analyzes weak points, energy flows, rules, and optimal attack paths.
- Xiao Hongchen converts intelligence into specialized Soul Tool responses.
- The system gives the unit exceptional efficiency in ambushes and surgical strikes. 56 113 121
Infiltration and Sabotage
During the war, Sword Pavilion became known for striking supply lines, communication hubs, defensive arrays, and command structures behind enemy lines 105 112.
- Destroyed Redwood Town’s Dispatch Center and Soul Tool Communication Tower, severing contact between nearby legions. 114 115
- Infiltrated Black Cloud Valley, planted explosives, and escaped Shrek pursuit through terrain exploitation and coordinated withdrawal. 117
- Entered the Ring of Giant Trees through a 0.7-second shield-energy gap and reached its core despite three Titled Douluo defenders. 121
- Conducted targeted strikes against eastern-border resistance forces by identifying concealed energy disturbances and enemy positions. 150 151
Sacred Purification
Ye Guyi’s Sacred attribute gives the group a vital countermeasure against evil, negative, and spiritually corrupt forces. Her abilities also provide moral tension within a unit frequently ordered to conduct destructive military missions 55 94 113.
- Purifies negative energy and evil influences.
- Suppresses certain ancient, savage, or negative attributes.
- Can create openings with Sacred Domain and Sword of Purification.
- Provides emergency water purification and support during survival situations. 94 134
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Core of Returning Silence — Ji Juechen’s Iron Sword evolved into an extension of his Sword Dao and the vessel of his Silence power 63 65.
- Soul Tool arsenal — Xiao Hongchen’s cannon turrets, Metal Storm systems, barriers, and specialized mechanical creations form the team’s main firepower base 78 98.
- Mirror of Tracing Light — Jing Yu’s ancient bronze mirror Martial Soul, used for information processing, battle replay, and limited prophetic observation 56.
- Seven imperial Soul Bone rewards — At least 70,000-year Soul Bones granted after the Star Luo operations; Ji Juechen’s reward was a 90,000-year Sword-Toothed Golden-Eyed Leopard left arm bone 141 144.
- Divine cultivation resources — Ji Juechen later distributed divine gifts including physique-tempering materials, spiritual treasures, Martial Soul evolution resources, and Rule Fragment Crystals to the members 201.
Relationships
- Ji Juechen — Pavilion Master, captain, and the team’s core judgment; the others repeatedly refuse to abandon him despite extreme danger 56 125 131.
- Jing Hongchen — Founder, sponsor, and principal strategist who formed the unit as a sharp blade for the Sun Moon Empire 56 63.
- Huo Yuhao — External ally at the group’s founding; later a respected rival whose Shrek team repeatedly clashes with Sword Pavilion during war 56 111 153.
- Sun Moon Empire — Patron and commanding power; provides missions, resources, and honors, while also treating the group as a strategic weapon 57 141.
- Empress Ju Zi — Imperial commander who deploys Sword Pavilion in high-risk operations, later separates its members to reduce Ji Juechen’s independent influence 120 151 160.
- Seven Monsters of Shrek — Principal rivals and pursuers during the Star Luo campaign; their conflict is marked by mutual recognition, ideological differences, and repeated restraint 111 131 139.

Ring of Giant Trees and Desert Escape
The “Sever Flow” mission pushes the team into a near-fatal confrontation at the Ring of Giant Trees.
