History

Foundation

Lin Lan applied to establish the academy after more than two years of preparation. Emperor Xue Ye initially resisted: an independent Lin Family academy would weaken imperial control over the family’s talented Spirit Masters. Approval moved forward only after Dugu Bo declared that he would serve as vice dean 40.

The site was established around the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye in Sunset Forest. Lin Lan had his count’s fief relocated there, making the surrounding territory the Lin Family’s private property. Lin Feng proposed the construction plan, Hua Jieyu produced the architectural blueprints, and the Defense Clan was hired to build the academy 40.

Completion and Enrollment

The completion ceremony brought together imperial representatives, major sects, Spirit Hall, and other academies. Lin Lan presented the teaching staff and cultivation guarantees, while Dugu Bo revealed his evolved Martial Soul and Rank 96 cultivation. Demonstration battles introduced the academy’s inheritable combat techniques to the attending factions 44 45 46 47.

Public enrollment began after the ceremony. News of its combat techniques and thousand-year second spirit rings spread across the continent, prompting major powers to send their younger generations. The academy accepted applicants according to its admission standards rather than their factional backgrounds 56.

Expansion Beyond Spirit Master Education

Lin Feng established the Five Elements School within the academy to teach literacy, mathematics, and vocational skills. He intended to expand this system across the continent and eventually allow commoners to enter official service through imperial examinations. Noble opposition included covert sabotage in Barak City; Lin Feng suppressed those efforts and used seized property to finance further schools 147.

Research Development

Lou Gao joined the Soul Tool Department through Lin Feng’s recruitment. Lin Feng also cooperated with Ning Fengzhi to develop soul tools for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 88.

Later, Dean Han agreed to relocate Tiangong Institute from the Sun Moon Continent and join Five Elements Academy in exchange for protection and the freedom to continue its research.
