The East Sea Alliance failed to support the uprisings in Raine-occupied territory in time because of its internal disputes. The former East Sea Alliance farmers who had risen up were left to fend for themselves.

How could a peasant army armed with farm tools and wooden clubs stand against the Raine Kingdom's regular troops?

The forces Earl Stanley sent were especially elite. Putting down the rebels was child's play for them.

The Raine Kingdom took a fairly hands-off approach to governing the occupied territory, but by offering concessions to some small landowners and merchants, it had gained plenty of informants.

With help from these local collaborators, the Raine Kingdom's army suppressed the rebels with ease.

In less than a month, the bulk of the rebel forces had been wiped out, and tens of thousands of farmers who had taken part in the uprising were executed outright.

The remaining rebels and their families were captured by the Raine Kingdom's regular troops. Women and children who could be sold were held separately, while the young and able-bodied men were taken to the front lines once more.

The crackdown did not eliminate every resister in the occupied territory, but it made another uprising there unlikely in the near future.

The Raine Kingdom also gained nearly 200,000 new cannon fodder troops. This time, their families were in the kingdom's hands, so they were naturally more obedient.

Earl Stanley and Duke Barick promised these men that if they distinguished themselves in battle, they could reunite with their families and go home.

Because of that promise, the cannon fodder troops showed a marked improvement in their will to fight.

Once these troops and the Raine Legion forces that had suppressed the uprising returned to the front, Earl Stanley launched another assault on the East Sea Alliance
