Finalizing the Battle Plan

After Mora left, silence fell over the conference room. The legion commanders exchanged glances without saying a word, then all turned their eyes to Viscount Borey.

Seeing everyone looking at him, Viscount Borey spoke directly. "Since His Grace has given us a suggestion, let us discuss it."

Suddenly, one of the commanders of the Noble Legions spoke up. "Forgive the interruption, Viscount Borey, but there is something I would like to confirm with you.

"As you must have heard, His Grace personally promised that our legions would no longer have to serve as bait.

"Can we now consider that decision final? This is a matter of great importance, after all. If it remains unsettled, I fear it could have a considerable impact on the entire battle!

"So I do hope you can give us a definite answer, my lord."

Instead, he showed no reaction and answered readily, "Since His Grace has already agreed, I naturally have no objections. If we need to lure the enemy in this time, my Imperial Guard Legion will take responsibility!

"Do you have any other questions?"

The commander who had asked the question had not expected such a straightforward answer from Viscount Borey. He was momentarily lost for words, and only after a long pause did he say, "Good, then. I have no further questions!"
