Just as Victor was thinking of what excuse to use to arrange for the Barbarian army to head to Durham County, he received a report from a soldier that the Cavalry unit he had sent out had returned.
Victor hurried out of his tent and ran to the camp gates with several guards. As soon as he arrived, he saw the dust kicked up by the large Cavalry force marching in the distance, along with several figures at the very front. They were James and the others.
When the Cavalry reached the gates of the Main Camp, James saw Victor waiting there. He dismounted with several nobles, Horne, and Zaro, then said, "My lord Marquis, the operation went very smoothly. The Barbarian army has withdrawn!"
Victor nodded. He looked over the group. Although they were all covered in dust and grime, none of them was injured. It seemed the operation had gone very smoothly.
"Good to hear everything went well!
Don't waste any more time here. I've already ordered the kitchens to prepare hot food. Let the soldiers have a good meal and get some sleep.
Once you've finished arranging the soldiers, come straight to my tent. Give me a proper report then!"
With that, Victor left, and James hurriedly led the troops into the camp.
Soon, under James and the others' command, the various units entered the camp zones that had already been laid out inside the Main Camp. With the auxiliary soldiers' help, the cavalrymen removed their equipment and tended to their warhorses before preparing to return to their barracks and rest.
