Victor once again arrived at the secluded town where the Research Institute was located, this time brimming with anticipation.
Just the day before, while he was still working, he had received a report from Yonicha informing him that their earlier research project had progressed very smoothly and was now ready for inspection. He hoped the Marquis would come and take a look.
Victor naturally knew what that project was and what it meant. Had the report not arrived so late, he might have rushed over that very night!
So early the next morning, Victor set out from the Spirit Pearl Estate. It was only around eight when he reached the town, and Yonicha was already waiting at the main gate with several of the Research Institute's core personnel.
Victor could barely contain his eagerness. He asked Yonicha directly, "Is everything ready? Let's not waste any time. Take me straight there!"
Yonicha said little, simply telling Victor, "Please follow me, Lord Marquis."
He then led everyone along the same route as before to the testing grounds.
As soon as Victor entered the testing grounds, he saw two hulking objects: the two rudimentary Railway Guns they had modified earlier.
A quick glance confirmed just how crude these two guns were. Their mounts and bodies were entirely exposed. They had simply been secured to the beds of railway cars, with their wheel assemblies removed and bolts fastening them to the frames.
The numerous bolts looked very sturdy, and the entire bed of each car had been reinforced with plenty of iron strips.
But rather than those two crude Railway Guns, what caught Victor's attention was the little fellow beside them.
Victor walked straight over and examined this little device he was seeing for the first time.
