Victor studied the intelligence in his hand with a grave expression. The Intelligence Department's interrogation team had just extracted it from the important member of the Iron Bone Tribe.
The information was simple: a considerable number of the troops deployed by the Iron Bone Tribe this time were surrendered forces from the former Tribal Alliance, accounting for roughly half its total strength.

"As long as you do this work well, both Orlando and I will reward you generously!"
Victor never begrudged rewards to those who rendered meritorious service. Everyone in Two Rivers County knew that, and these Intelligence Department personnel were no exception. Hearing the marquis's personal promise lifted their spirits, and they geared up to throw themselves into the interrogation.
Just then, Victor also received word that James and his men had returned. He left the interrogation room and headed for the fortress gate to welcome James and Jell back.
By the time Victor reached the outside of the fortress, he could already see Jell returning alongside James in the distance, their thousand-strong force advancing in a grand procession.
Victor did not go far to meet them, because James
