The fourth time she appeared, she had transformed into the Manor Matriarch and tempted him with everything half-hidden and half-revealed.
The fifth time she appeared, she took Red Boy from his hands to be her Daoist Boy.
This was the sixth time she had appeared.
Xuanzang would very much like to see just what Guanyin Bodhisattva's purpose was this time.
Guanyin said, "Xuanzang, this demon is a Goldfish I raised in my Lotus Pond. It took advantage of my inattention and descended privately to the Lower Realm."
"Bodhisattva, then do you know how many people this demon ate in the nine years it spent in the Lower Realm?"
Xuanzang gave Guanyin no face at all and spoke bluntly. "Nine! A full nine lives! All of them fisherfolk who made their living by fishing on the Tongtian River. This demon is wrapped in sin and must be put to death!"
