Xuanzang: I'll Marry You First, Then Seek the Sutras, Neither Failing the Buddha nor Failing You

Two and a half minutes later.

Their lips parted.

The Queen panted softly, her pretty oval face flushed rosy red.

Though the sudden joy had struck her so hard she was a little dizzy, what she worried about most was still whether Xuanzang had been hurt.

"Royal Brother, you aren't injured, are you? Did that monster hurt you?" the Queen asked anxiously, gripping Xuanzang's arms.

Xuanzang shook his head and smiled. "No. That benefactor was kind by nature, and I have already delivered him."

"Delivered?"

"Yes, delivered."

"All right."

Though the Queen did not quite understand, after the crisis had passed, the problems of reality lay before them.

The Queen forced a smile, her eyes full of reluctance. "Royal Brother, since there is no danger now, hurry and continue west. You must not delay and anger Buddha Ancestor."

Xuanzang shook his head. "I feel today's wedding was held far too hastily, so I intend to stop for two months and properly perfect this wedding with you."

As soon as these words came out, the Queen's autumn-bright eyes widened in surprise. Then came disbelief, and tears of joy. "Royal Brother, you said... is what you said really true?"

Xuanzang nodded heavily, his gaze serious, his tone certain. "I swear to Buddha Ancestor, everything I said is true."

"Then will it delay your journey west? Will Buddha Ancestor blame you?"

"First I marry you, then I fetch the scriptures," Xuanzang said. "I will not fail Buddha Ancestor, and I will not fail you."

"Scriptures in my left hand, you in my right," Xuanzang said. "Marriage and career, neither will be delayed."

The Queen was almost knocked unconscious by this surprise.

"Royal Brother~"

Those eyes, already tender as flowing water, now looked as if they were about to melt completely.
