After Mount Buzhou broke, the Saints tasked Cangyuan with finding something to support the heavens while Nuwa prepared to mend them. Cangyuan accepted the mission to cut off the North Sea Black Tortoise’s four limbs, hoping to earn Mount Buzhou’s broken section and have Primordial Lord of Heaven refine it for him.

• Zhunti and Jieyin complained to Hongjun about the West’s poverty, but he gave the Qiankun Cauldron to Nuwa and ignored them.
• Nuwa explained that mending the heavens would not suffice without something to replace Mount Buzhou, while the other Saints said they could not leave their duties.
• Sect Master Tongtian brought Cangyuan and Taotie to the broken Mount Buzhou and assigned Cangyuan to find the North Sea Black Tortoise and cut off its four limbs.
