A Shift in the Situation (2)

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A dense series of unusually crisp explosions, unlike any volley before, suddenly rang out from directly ahead! The gunshots were extremely close and incredibly fast, almost blending into one continuous roar!

"Firearms! It's an ambush with firearms!" Acton's heart sank to the bottom of his stomach, and a chill shot from the soles of his feet straight to the crown of his head! He knew that sound far too well. It was the sound of a large number of firearms firing at point-blank range!

But it was already too late!

A storm of searing lead, like the scythe of death, swept across the Berserkers charging at the very front!

These Sauron elite warriors, clad in heavy armor and seemingly unstoppable, had no time to make any effective evasive maneuvers at such close range!

"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"

The lead bullets tore through their finest armor with ease and burrowed into their powerful bodies!

The dozen or so Berserkers at the very front seemed to have been struck by invisible sledgehammers. Their bodies convulsed violently as clusters of blood burst from them, and they toppled to the ground in rows without uttering a sound!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The second volley followed almost without pause! Then came a third!

The Carnford People had actually arranged a firearm formation capable of rapid successive volleys at such close range! This was completely beyond Acton's and all the Sauron's expectations!

Three rapid and deadly volleys doused the Sauron's frenzied charge like a basin of icy water, completely stunning and halting their momentum!

The originally dense charging formation instantly became sparse, while another layer of corpses belonging to Sauron's most elite warriors was added to the ground!
