Dong Moxuan settled into life with Mei and grew closer to both her and Kiana before Honkai erupted across Changkong City. As Schicksal, Anti-Entropy, and World Serpent prepared to act, Kiana led Dong Moxuan toward the rooftop where Mei had awakened amid purple lightning.

• Dong Moxuan introduced himself to Mei, proved his connection to Raiden Ryoma, and persuaded her to let him stay temporarily after learning that Raiden Ryoma had been imprisoned.
• Dong Moxuan brought Mei her forgotten lunch at Senba Academy, where he met Kiana and helped her move sports equipment before she gave him her phone number.
• Dong Moxuan helped Kiana choose furniture, shared a couple’s meal with her at a maid cafe, and exchanged phone charms with her.
• Dong Moxuan stood up for Mei after a classmate belittled her, then joined her on a shopping trip where they shared several awkward, intimate moments.
• Dong Moxuan took Mei on a date to an arcade, where they played together and exchanged plush toys while a black-haired girl watched them.
• Honkai erupted across Changkong City, and Dong Moxuan headed to Senba Academy to find Mei while Kiana fought infected creatures and then mistook his Honkai aura for a threat.
• Theresa ordered Himeko back to Changkong City, Otto sent Durandal to retrieve an object there, and Cocolia sent Bronya to bring back Raiden Mei.
• Jackal reported the Third Eruption to the Venerable Lord, while Kiana took Dong Moxuan toward the rooftop after purple lightning sounded above them.

Dong Moxuan helped Mei regain control of her Herrscher power, then escaped Changkong City with her and brought Bronya and Yae Sakura into his orbit. As Durandal investigated the city with Amamiya Rinon, Dong Moxuan invited Yae Sakura to join The Void Archives.

• Mei nearly became the Herrscher of Thunder, but Dong Moxuan reached her and helped her resist the Honkai Will, then explained her power and left Changkong City with her.
• Cocolia sent Titans to capture Mei, but Dong Moxuan disabled them and protected her, after Mei tried to push him away to keep him safe, he reassured her and she kissed him.
• Kiana caught up with Dong Moxuan and Mei, and Bronya confronted him on Qinjiang Bridge after revealing she had predicted their route.
• Dong Moxuan defeated Bronya’s Titan and persuaded her to leave Anti-Entropy with him, but a structure rising from the river swept him away and Yae Sakura fell onto him.
• Durandal defeated Yae Sakura and found Amamiya Rinon carrying the Taixu Divine Sword, then took Rinon to investigate a strange space beneath the river.
• Dong Moxuan cared for the injured Yae Sakura, told her that Kallen was dead and that Durandal was Schicksal’s strongest Valkyrie, and offered her food.
• Yae Sakura warned Dong Moxuan that Durandal would pursue her, but he invited her to join The Void Archives and revealed that he was a zombie.
