In the Chaos Void, the three of them found an exceedingly remote spot.
It was a deathly silent star domain. Even the raging chaos airflow seemed listless here, with only a few shattered meteorites drifting past now and then.
Cang Xuan's Great Dao of Wood could sense not the slightest trace of life here.
"It's safe enough here," he said, a hint of exhaustion in his voice.
"Safe, sure, but it's too damn desolate." Hongchu surveyed their surroundings, his face full of distaste.
Zhou Ming said nothing. His divine thought swept through the surroundings before finally settling on a dark red star core ahead, roughly a tenth the size of an ordinary world.
The star core had long since burned out, leaving its interior hollow. A thick, long-cooled shell of rock encased it, radiating an aura of deathly stillness.
In a flash, he appeared before the star core and threw a punch.
His dark gold fist struck the rocky shell, and the incomparably hard substance silently vanished, revealing an opening just wide enough for one person to pass through.
Zhou Ming stepped inside first.
Hongchu and Cang Xuan exchanged a glance, then followed him in.
With a casual wave, Zhou Ming laid down several formations to conceal their auras, completely isolating the star core's interior from the chaos outside.
"All right, out with it."
The moment they settled in, Hongchu turned eagerly toward Zhou Ming, his lightning-flecked eyes brimming with curiosity.
"What shortcut?"
He was, of course, asking about the speed at which Zhou Ming had recovered his strength.
Cang Xuan also looked toward Zhou Ming. Although he was not as impatient as Hongchu, his eyes were every bit as searching.
The same question had been troubling him, too.
