Zhunti especially had clearly seen the flash of fury that crossed Minghe's face, and had thought this fellow was about to make trouble on the spot and stop Ksitigarbha from making his vow.
But to their surprise, Minghe said nothing at all. He merely stood there coldly.
Jieyin and Zhunti exchanged a glance. Instead of relaxing, a deeper unease surged up in their hearts.
From what they knew of Minghe, this fellow was absolutely not the sort of person to swallow his anger and endure humiliation.
In the entire Underworld, there was only one person who could make him force down the fury already at the tip of his tongue.

She had stepped in to stop Minghe, yet she did not move against them either. She simply watched in silence.
If she had acted directly, or had Minghe curse them out, they would not have been so worried.
But now, not only had she not stopped it, she had instead suppressed Minghe's anger and tacitly allowed Ksitigarbha's vow.

For a moment, the two Sages felt chills run down their spines, as if all their plans were, in the eyes of that ruler of the Underworld, nothing more than a joke.
However, matters had already come to this point. The great vow had been made, and the merit of the Heavenly Dao had descended. There was no possibility of turning back.
