After a thousand years of failing to comprehend the Hongmeng Purple Qi alongside the Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, and Jieyin, Zhunti proposes including Kunpeng in their deliberations. Yuanshi dismisses the idea, leaving Zhunti visibly desperate for a path to Sainthood. 48 He later advocates an alliance among the holders of Hongmeng Purple Qi, warning that their opportunities also make them targets for hidden schemes. 52

He is patient when a scheme requires it. Before freeing Di Jun's ten sons, he watches Tanggu Valley for tens of thousands of years, studies the Heavenly Emperor's inspection routine, then waits an additional thousand years to act with certainty. 205 Conversely, his frustration becomes obvious when opportunities fail or plans are disrupted, such as his inability to understand the Hongmeng Purple Qi or his defeat by Hongyun. 48 572

Plotting Against the Heavenly Court and Human Emperor

Zhunti seeks to weaken Haotian by exploiting his conflict with Yuanshi and the Human Race, intending for the Western Teachings to benefit while its rivals take the blame. 319 320

During the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, he persuades Yuanshi and Jieyin to help manipulate Di Xin into offending Nuwa at her palace. He captures Di Xin's aura, clouds the heavenly secrets, and later implants false recollections in the gathered ministers. 441 450 452

Zhunti views the collapse of other sects as an opportunity for the West. He approaches Burning Lamp with a promised “tremendous opportunity,” protects Burning Lamp and Shen Gongbao from Yuanshi, and seeks to take Kong Xuan after the Twelve Golden Immortals are lost. 506 512 548

His actions draw Nuwa's retaliation. When she attacks him and Jieyin over the humiliation at her palace, Zhunti reveals Yuanshi's participation in the scheme. 550

Hongyun effortlessly dissolves his attacks, uses him to hone his own Dao arts, and destroys Zhunti's Great Extinction Divine Light. Jieyin must intervene with the Twelve-grade Golden Lotus of Merit to prevent Zhunti's defeat from becoming worse. 572

Final Imprisonment
