Swift Wind Technique

When Shimizu crawled out of the Fatty Puppet, dazed from the violent tumble, Little Boy had already been bound by Black Ant's long arms and was unable to move. The mechanisms on Ibuse's back and sides had all been removed, while Sasori himself had been captured by the Ox-Face Puppet, which held him by the collar.

"You all performed quite well."

Chiyo controlled the Ox-Face Puppet to set Sasori down, praising them with a cheerful smile.

She could not have been more satisfied with Shimizu and Sasori's performance.

When she had been around their age, Chiyo herself might not have done nearly as well.

"Sasori, you trust your own judgment too much in battle. You never leave yourself a way out. In other words, when you make a move, you do not consider what comes next, how the enemy might respond, or how you should counter that response. Yet you often hesitate at critical moments. This could very well lead to you falling into a desperate situation in a future battle because of a single lapse in judgment."

Chiyo put away her puppets and began evaluating Shimizu and Sasori.

"Your puppet control and the development of your puppets' functions have both been quite good. What you need most now is to meet more people and spar against different kinds of ninja to gain combat experience."

Chiyo found a rock and sat down, while Shimizu and Sasori sat on either side of her.

"As for Shimizu, you have far more mission experience than Sasori, and you have been on the battlefield before. Although it was not the most dangerous front line, your practical experience is still fairly solid. However, you do have certain shortcomings."

"You lack experience fighting enemies stronger than yourself. Perhaps this is because your strength has surged over the past year, improving faster than your combat awareness. There are also some flaws brought about by your fighting style being different from that of traditional Puppeteers."

"You call the Fatty Puppet an armored puppet. This method of having a puppet encase the Puppeteer's body can indeed improve a Puppeteer's ability to protect themselves. With the traits of multiple puppets complementing one another, its offensive power is also quite decent—provided your puppets are good enough. I have faith in you in that regard. But it is still the same question as before: if you encounter an enemy stronger than you who breaks through your armored puppet, what will you do?"

Chiyo looked into Shimizu's eyes as she asked.

"I can only run. If the enemy can do that, then Little Boy has either been destroyed or restrained by other enemies. And if they can defeat Fatty, then their combat ability must far surpass that of my actual body."

Shimizu thought for a few seconds before answering.

Chiyo nodded in satisfaction.

"Your analysis is fairly sound. During normal missions, you will be part of a squad, and your teammates will not let a Puppeteer's actual body fall into a desperate situation. But once you encounter danger you cannot resist, the ability to flee and survive becomes extremely important."

As Chiyo spoke, she took two Ninjutsu Scrolls from her Ninja Tool Bag.

"The contents of these two scrolls are identical. They both record two Ninjutsu. One is the Mechanism Shield Seal I just used, a B-rank Ninjutsu meant to be used with puppets. It uses puppet mechanisms as a medium to turn Chakra into a physical substance for defense. Its strength depends on the Puppeteer's Chakra strength and the quality of the Chakra circuits in the mechanisms. Even now, it remains the defensive Ninjutsu I use most often."

"The other Ninjutsu is my personal secret technique: the Swift Wind Technique."

Chiyo raised a finger, around which a tiny vortex of wind swirled.

"After the First Great Ninja War, I studied Kumogakure's Lightning Release Chakra Mode and attempted to develop a Wind Release Chakra Mode suited for Sand Ninja. In its complete form, it would cover the entire body in sharp Wind Release Chakra, much like Wind Release: Vacuum Sword. It would not only possess immense cutting power, but could also deflect and redirect enemy attacks through the dispersing force of Wind Release. It could even grant the user incredible speed through Wind Release enhancement."

At that point, Chiyo sighed.

"But the Lightning Release Chakra Mode was the result of generations of research by the Raikage's line, dating back to before Kumogakure was even founded. My attainments in Ninjutsu are decent, but how could I compare to the lifelong research of generations of exceptional figures? Still, I did gain something from it—the Wind Release: Swift Wind Technique you saw."

"So what does this Swift Wind Technique do?"

Since Sasori was rather quiet, Shimizu took on the role of prompting her to continue.

"Speed. Wind Release Chakra is expelled through several major acupoints in the body, propelling the user forward while reducing air resistance, greatly enhancing one's speed. For a Puppeteer, having sufficient speed will undoubtedly greatly improve their ability to survive on the battlefield."

Afterward, Chiyo explained the training methods for these two Ninjutsu in detail to Shimizu and Sasori.

Mechanism Sealing required Chakra circuits to be constructed beforehand inside the appropriate puppet mechanisms using materials with good Chakra conductivity. When the Puppeteer injected a large amount of Chakra into those circuits in a short time, the released Chakra could be materialized to provide excellent defense.

The strength of the defense depended on factors such as the circuit materials and structural design, as well as the quality and quantity of the Puppeteer's injected Chakra.

It was a Puppet Technique with both a high lower limit and a high upper limit for defensive power.

As for the Swift Wind Technique, it was divided into several stages.

The initial stage was relatively easy to learn. As Chiyo had said, it involved releasing Wind Attribute Chakra through several major acupoints in the body to increase one's movement speed. Overall, it was only slightly less difficult than ordinary B-rank Ninjutsu.

The second stage required mastery of the Nature Transformation of Wind Attribute Chakra, as well as Shape Transformation at a certain level, turning Wind Attribute Chakra into a membrane that covered the body's surface.

Although its defensive power was not particularly strong, it could raise one's already enhanced speed to an even higher level.
