Ch. 1Puppeteer

Shimizu, an orphaned Genin Puppeteer in Sunagakure during the Second Great Ninja War, examined an unusually lucrative assignment to repair a puppet. After studying and reassembling it, he gained access to the System Panel’s data on the puppet, though its origins and the reason for the generous mission remained unclear.

  • Shimizu watched battered soldiers return from the front and reflected on Sunagakure’s worsening position in the war.
  • He recalled choosing to specialize as a Puppeteer because his talent and background could not keep pace with better-supported classmates.
  • While recovering from battlefield injuries, Shimizu noticed that his repair assignment paid far more than a normal mission.
  • He inspected the target puppet and found that the System Panel showed little information because he had not made it himself.
  • Shimizu dismantled, studied, and reassembled the puppet, making it qualify as something he had manually made.

Ch. 2Something Off About This Mission

Shimizu rapidly repaired and improved the Chunin-level puppet Little Boy, using the System Panel to refine his design. Ebizo and Ishido reviewed his work, praised his talent, and considered him for the Puppet Force's reserve training program.

  • Shimizu examined Little Boy's damage and wondered whether the Puppet Force had assigned him the mission as a test for its training program.
  • Shimizu documented the puppet's mechanisms and designed repairs, replacements, and upgrades, including an anti-poison coating and a possible shield form.
  • Shimizu used the System Panel to simulate and refine his repair plan, then completed Little Boy's repairs in four days.
  • Ishido reported Shimizu's work to Ebizo and recommended him for the Puppet Force's reserve training criteria.
  • Ebizo praised the design, while Ishido explained Shimizu's background and why he could not have learned advanced puppet techniques elsewhere.

Ch. 3New Changes to the System Panel

Shimizu learned that his application for the Sunagakure Puppet Force Training Plan had been approved, and the System Panel updated to show his personal attributes and skill levels. He began exploring its new functions, finding that it displayed his Wind Release techniques.

  • Ishido asked Ebizo to transfer Shimizu into the Sixth Division, but Ebizo said the new Puppeteer trainees would be selected and assigned by the division leaders.
  • Momi gave Shimizu a Puppet Force Training Plan application and urged him to pursue advanced Puppeteer training.
  • Momi told Shimizu that Konoha White Fang had killed many Sunagakure Puppeteers, including Chiyo's son and daughter-in-law.
  • Shimizu's System Panel completed its update and added a personal status screen with his attributes and class skills.
  • Shimizu explored the panel and found his Wind Release: Gale Palm and Wind Release: Great Breakthrough techniques listed.

Ch. 4Avatar Deployment, Starting in Arkham

Shimizu used the System Panel to deploy an avatar into Gotham, where he found himself imprisoned in Arkham as the minor villain Clear Wade, also known as Puppet Master. He left Riddler temporarily removed from their cell block after falsely reporting an escape plot, though he expected the guards to uncover the lie.

  • Shimizu discovered that gathering fortune could unlock new worlds and let him deploy avatars, then used the System Panel to send part of his consciousness to another world.
  • Shimizu arrived in Arkham and learned that his avatar was Clear Wade, a low-level villain known as Puppet Master who made crude puppets from corpses.
  • Riddler pestered Shimizu and Black Mask with riddles, and Shimizu answered one before threatening to turn Riddler into a puppet.
  • Shimizu told a guard that Riddler had planned an escape with Penguin and invited Black Mask and him to join.
  • Black Mask backed Shimizu's claim, and guards dragged Riddler to a higher-security block while Shimizu warned that he might return after the recordings were checked.

Ch. 5Puppeteer Training

In Arkham, Shimizu considered how to use Luck and began building Chakra in his new body while planning to escape and question Black Mask. In the Naruto World, he joined the Puppet Force’s training selection, where the first test required candidates to gather materials and make a puppet.

  • Shimizu examined how Luck could grant his avatar talents and strengthen its body, then began extracting Chakra in Arkham.
  • The next morning, Shimizu arrived at Sunagakure’s Training Ground No. 1 with the Fatty Puppet and saw dozens of other Puppeteers, including a younger red-haired boy.
  • Jonin Sayama introduced the Puppet Force’s leaders and explained that candidates had to pass the training and tests to join.
  • Jonin Sayama ordered the seventy-nine candidates to gather no more than fifteen kilograms of puppet-making materials in one hour and build a puppet in the next two hours.
  • Shimizu entered the oasis and found an abundance of trees, animal parts, venomous insects, and poisonous plants suitable for puppet construction.

Ch. 6Fatty's Combat Capabilities

Shimizu searched the Emerald of the Wind oasis for materials to build a small puppet, collecting White Ironwood and parts from a poisonous snake. He tracked down and subdued a chakra-bearing lynx, leaving it paralyzed and ready to be harvested for the puppet frame.

  • Shimizu killed a poisonous snake and removed its fangs and venom sac for puppet materials.
  • Shimizu cut down White Ironwood, replanted its seeds, and stored the wood in Fatty.
  • Shimizu followed animal signs upstream and found a large lynx guarding its territory.
  • Shimizu sent Fatty to attack the lynx, but it dodged the Poison Needle Senbon and pounced on the puppet.
  • Shimizu used Fatty's Split Mechanism Maneuver to bind the lynx, then paralyzed it with cactus-juice-treated Senbon.

Ch. 7Not, Bro, Are You Really a Genius?

Shimizu used the System Panel to design and build a small puppet named Tom in under an hour, astonishing the instructors and the other young Puppeteers. The timed practical continued, with only Sasori close to finishing his own puppet.

  • Shimizu gathered fifteen kilograms of materials and arrived at Training Ground No. 1 for the puppet-making challenge.
  • Sunakami Sayama gave the young Puppeteers two hours to make puppets before they would be assigned to battle groups.
  • Shimizu processed his materials, then used the System Panel to refine his design and name the agile, Genin-level puppet Tom.
  • Sasori ignored Shimizu and continued drawing his own blueprint, while Sunakami Sayama and Ishido wondered whether Shimizu was skilled or simply lost.
  • Shimizu built Tom with smooth, deliberate movements and finished in less than an hour, leaving most of the others behind while Sasori's puppet was already more than halfway complete.

Ch. 8A Real Genius!

Shimizu impressed the puppet-training selectors by quickly crafting and controlling Tom, a lifelike cat puppet. Sasori revealed his own puppet, Termite, and the two began a match that ended in a standstill, leaving Shimizu impressed by Sasori’s skill.

  • Shimizu tested Tom’s smooth controls and admired the puppet he had made in less than an hour.
  • Sunakami Sayama praised Shimizu’s work and proposed a spar, but Ishido offered to use his puppet Little Boy instead.
  • Sasori finished Termite and volunteered to fight Shimizu, drawing the selectors’ surprise and interest.
  • Sunakami Sayama chose Sasori as Shimizu’s opponent, and Ishido started their match.
  • Shimizu and Sasori fought to a standstill as Sasori’s refined control offset Tom’s superior performance.

Ch. 9Escape Plan

Shimizu defeated Sasori in a puppet battle and considered joining the Puppet Force’s Sixth Division, which focused on puppet repair, manufacturing, and research. The story then shifted to Arkham Asylum, where Shimizu ate his meal while secretly working on a tiny puppet.

  • Shimizu exploited Sasori’s inexperience to free Tom from Termite and knock Sasori down.
  • Shimizu revealed Tom’s venom mechanism, and Sasori admitted defeat and praised the puppet.
  • Ishido explained the Puppet Force’s divisions and invited Shimizu to join the Sixth Division, offering him Little Boy.
  • Shimizu asked to gather information before deciding, while Ishido kept the Sealing Scroll for him.
  • At Arkham Asylum, Shimizu and Black Mask ate their prison meals, and Shimizu secretly assembled a tiny puppet from parts of his own body.

Ch. 10Joker

Shimizu hid his crude puppet, Wisdom Tooth No. 1, and recognized Joker’s arrival at Arkham as the start of a trap for Batman. When Harley Quinn released the inmates, Joker announced a deadly show and challenged them to take down the Bat.

  • Shimizu created Wisdom Tooth No. 1 from his own body tissue and hid it in a ventilation duct to help him scout for an escape opportunity.
  • Joker arrived at Arkham in restraints while Batman escorted him, and Shimizu warned Black Mask that Joker might be planning a trap for the Bat.
  • After Batman left, Shimizu retrieved Wisdom Tooth No. 1 and told Black Mask that Joker might be using Arkham to lure Batman into a trap.
  • Harley Quinn and undercover agent Frank Bourne released the prisoners, including Shimizu, Black Mask, and Joker.
  • Joker announced over the loudspeakers that he had planted bombs around Arkham Island, then rallied the inmates to compete to take down Batman.

Ch. 11Joker's Plan

Joker rallied Arkham’s inmates to attack Batman with Titan II Serum, then hunted down Dr. Penny Yang for the serum’s formula. After Batman recaptured Bane, Joker shot Dr. Yang, leaving the formula’s whereabouts unknown.

  • Joker told the released inmates that they could fight Batman or leave Arkham, and promised them a way to gain strength.
  • Joker’s group discovered that Dr. Penny Yang had created Titan II Serum, a powerful but mentally damaging version of Titan Serum.
  • A former forensic doctor and a lock-picking lackey searched Dr. Yang’s office and opened a hidden freezer containing Titan II Venom.
  • Joker threatened Dr. Yang for the formula while Harley Quinn warned him that Batman had recaptured Bane and was closing in.
  • Dr. Yang said she was the only one who knew the formula, so Joker shot her to keep Batman from obtaining it.

Ch. 12Shimizu's Plan

Shimizu avoided Batman by sending a clone in his place, then infiltrated Arkham's control room disguised as a guard. After Nightwing helped the guards defeat Harley Quinn's criminals, Shimizu left the control room to begin the third step of his plan.

  • Shimizu sent a clone to face Batman while he went to Arkham, where he subdued guard Milovan Tore and used Transformation Jutsu to disguise himself as him.
  • Shimizu headed for Arkham's control room but found guards and Harley Quinn's criminals locked in a firefight outside it.
  • Shimizu joined the guards behind a sandbag barricade and waited as the battle remained deadlocked.
  • Nightwing arrived through a ventilation duct and helped the guards defeat and cuff the criminals.
  • Shimizu found Harley Quinn tied up in the control room, then left under the pretense of patrolling to carry out the third step of his plan.

Ch. 13Escape from Arkham!

Shimizu escaped Arkham by unleashing a Titan monster and opening the prison gates, then planned to recover and make his way to Gotham. A month later, he attended the Puppet Force’s final lesson, where a teacher introduced the Black Secret Technique.

  • Shimizu injected Milovan with Titan II Venom, injured his own shoulder, and lured Nightwing and the guards into fighting the transformed monster.
  • Shimizu knocked out Harley Quinn and opened Arkham’s secured doors while Batman confronted Joker and Nightwing battled Milovan.
  • After Nightwing and the guards defeated Milovan, Shimizu crossed the water to shore and planned to recover before heading to Gotham.
  • Shimizu later set out for the Puppet Force headquarters with the fat man and Tom packed in a wooden box, as his fortune bar reached 17.9.
  • A Special Jonin taught the twelve new Puppet Force members about the Black Secret Technique, which let a puppeteer control multiple puppets by dividing their mind.

Ch. 14Black Secret Technique

Shimizu and Sasori learned about the Black Secret Technique and officially joined the Puppet Force’s Sixth Division, where they met their new squadmates. Shimizu received the Little Boy puppet, while Sasori was given notes on creating human puppets from his grandmother.

  • An instructor explained that the Black Secret Technique let users control multiple puppets by separating their consciousness, and Shimizu and Sasori recorded the lesson.
  • Shimizu reflected on choosing the Sixth Division after Sasori invited him to join and challenge him again.
  • Shimizu and Sasori arrived at the Sixth Division’s base and met their captain, Jonin Ishido, along with Miyuki and Miyaki.
  • Ishido gave Shimizu the Little Boy puppet and handed Sasori a copy of Elder Chiyo’s Human Puppet Creation Notes.
  • Shimizu considered the Puppet Force’s training and discounted warehouse supplies as resources for improving Fatty and Tom.

Ch. 15Practice

Shimizu practiced controlling two puppets at once to develop the Mind Divided in Two technique, but his Chakra Threads were too weak to manage them effectively. In Gotham, he stole a mob boss’s identity and found enough cash and gold to fund his next steps.

  • Shimizu used one hand to control Fatty and the other to control Tom, but his weak Chakra Threads made the puppets stumble and collide.
  • Shimizu decided to keep practicing after realizing that controlling two puppets in combat would be worse than controlling one.
  • In Gotham, Shimizu killed a mob boss, took his money, keys, and gun, then transformed into him.
  • Shimizu drove to the boss’s bar, searched the office, and uncovered a hidden safe beneath a floor tile.
  • Shimizu opened the safe and found thirty gold bars and three hundred thousand dollars in bills, bringing his haul to about five hundred thousand dollars.

Ch. 16Penguin

Shimizu met with Penguin after escaping Arkham Asylum, exchanged the contents of a safe for casino chips, and bought materials and weapons for building puppets at Penguin’s black market. He then asked Penguin for a scrutinizable legal identity to avoid Nightwing, and Penguin quoted a price while offering plastic surgery.

  • Shimizu escaped the bar with a safe and later met Penguin at the Iceberg Lounge, where Penguin offered him a job.
  • Shimizu traded the safe’s contents for fifty chips, then entered Penguin’s black market wearing a cloak and Raccoon Dog Mask.
  • Shimizu bought ceramic composite bulletproof vests, cameras, radar sensors, guns, and other materials to modify into puppets.
  • Shimizu told Penguin that the black market lacked the materials he wanted and asked him to arrange a legal identity.
  • Penguin quoted one hundred thousand dollars for the identity and offered plastic surgery, but Shimizu refused and formed a Hand Seal.

Ch. 17New Identity

Shimizu gained a new identity in Gotham and bought a house to use as a puppet-making workshop, while his true body in Sunagakure worked through wartime puppet repairs. After a short rest at the Puppet Force base, Shimizu and Miyuki joined Sasori in training.

  • Shimizu changed his appearance to Keanu Reeves and asked Penguin to arrange an identity for him.
  • Three days later, Shimizu used his new identity to buy a house, puppet-making supplies, and tools, then began studying electronics.
  • Shimizu's true body processed recovered puppets with his squad and avoided embezzling parts despite the opportunity.
  • After the latest batch of puppets was finished, Shimizu tried to persuade Sasori to rest, but Sasori continued working on a puppet component.
  • Shimizu began practicing the Black Secret Technique with Fatty and Tom, and Miyuki joined in so she would not be the only one resting.

Ch. 18New Puppet

Shimizu created the identity Flash Wade and built a powerful armored combat puppet by combining Puppet Technique with modern engineering. He tested and disassembled the machine, then equipped its components onto himself as Black Gold while considering further improvements.

  • Shimizu reviewed the history of his new identity, Flash Wade, and discovered that its nominal advisor, Harrison Wells, was the recently deceased founder of Stellar Labs.
  • After a stray bullet hit his window during a gang shootout nearby, Shimizu began building a new puppet using alloy sheets, electronic components, and his Puppet Technique.
  • Shimizu completed the puppet with Chakra-powered pneumatic arms, a modified submachine gun, and a revolver mounted on its shoulder.
  • Shimizu used Black Secret Technique: One Machine Operation to assemble the puppet and checked its B- rating and combat capabilities.
  • Shimizu tested the puppet, disassembled it, and equipped its parts onto himself as Black Gold.

Ch. 19Black Gold

Shimizu completed Black Gold, an armor-type puppet built by his DC World avatar, and planned to use it to establish a gang in Gotham. In the Naruto World, his main body upgraded Fatty Puppet into a powerful B+ combat puppet, leaving him with a growing two-puppet fighting system.

  • Shimizu tested the agile Black Gold puppet, named it, and decided to use his abilities to build a gang in Gotham's slums.
  • Shimizu's avatar finished Black Gold, which had B-rank combat power and could compensate for his weakness in close combat.
  • Shimizu dismantled Tom and Fatty Puppet in the Naruto World because he could control only two puppets at once.
  • Shimizu modified Fatty Puppet with pneumatic pumps, poison needles, a serrated blade, and a Kunai launcher.
  • Fatty Puppet's improved materials and lighter build earned it a B+ rating, while Shimizu planned to use it alongside Little Boy.

Ch. 20A-rank Mission

Shimizu, Miyuki, and Sasori joined an A-rank mission to help Sunagakure capture a Konoha team carrying an Uchiha with an activated Sharingan. After reaching Black Sand City, they headed out with Captain Ishido’s forces as Nara Heiya’s trapped team planned to survive until Sakumo arrived to help them escape.

  • Miyaki ordered Shimizu, Miyuki, and Sasori to prepare for an A-rank mission to find a Konoha team that had destroyed the Black Iron Mine at Black Sand City.
  • Miyaki explained that Sunagakure wanted to capture Uchiha Sen, whose Sharingan had been activated, while Captain Ishido and the border Jonin would handle the enemy Jonin.
  • Shimizu’s group passed through First Line of Heaven and reached Black Sand City, where Ishido learned that Kyuichi and a Sensory Ninja were tracking the Konoha team.
  • A garrison Chunin received a message by summoning a desert lizard, and Ishido ordered the assembled force to move out immediately.
  • Uchiha Sen argued with a companion over how the Konoha team had been exposed, while Nara Heiya told them to hold out until Sakumo led a force to their rescue.
