Seeing the fishhook that had appeared in the sky, unprecedented despair surged through my heart.
"Is this the hook?" I looked up at the sky, my heart already filled with dejection—but even more so with rage. Without hesitation, I raised the Death Sword and slashed directly at the fishhook before me.
But to my surprise, that slash of mine was unbelievably powerful. Yet it passed straight through the fishhook and fishing line. They seemed to be nothing more than illusions.
Unwilling to believe it, I raised the Death Sword again. Terrifying sword energy continued raining down upon the sky. But it was useless. Completely useless.
The fishhook continued descending, and no matter how much sword energy I unleashed, I couldn't inflict even the slightest damage.
"What's going on? Why?" I muttered in panic, wildly sweeping the Death Sword in my hand.
At that moment, the onlookers beside me were completely bewildered.
"What's going on? Why is he waving his sword wildly at the sky?"
"How did that man in black turn into black liquid?"
"Who won in the end?"
Only some truly ancient races understood what was happening at that moment. Although they couldn't see what was in the sky either, they had already realized the truth.
