Shanghai Disneyland was completely different from Avalon—the Duke of Iris was even far wealthier than the grand nobles of Star Antimony.
The Duke of Vendome's "mansion" was actually a castle, and not merely a gigantic house.
The estate covered approximately eight hundred hectares, roughly the size of eight Shanghais Disneylands—back when Iver still lived there, it was the largest amusement park he had ever visited.
The castle's cream-colored exterior was topped with dark green brick-and-tile decorations. It was also adorned with abundant greenery; the gardens alone required at least ten gardeners to barely keep up with the daily maintenance.
The guesthouses on either side of the castle, meant solely for servants and guests, each consisted of eight slightly shorter two-story villas joined together in a square. There were sixteen villas in total—and any one of them was larger than Moriarty Mansion in Avalon.
The estate was surrounded by forest on three sides. Only the side from which they had come had a road.
At that moment, they had stopped before the bridge in front of the castle. Beyond it was a place carriages could not enter. Everyone had to cross the short bridge on foot to get inside.
The castle was even somewhat larger than Star Antimony's Red Fort. After crossing the not-so-long bridge, they still had to climb a three-tiered staircase—clearly a structure designed to prevent dampness caused by high tides.
There were more than sixty steps in total. After climbing them, they found no fountain by the entrance as there was at the Red Fort. Instead, there was an entire lake, which connected to the sea through a long waterway. Water was drawn inward, forming something like a "moat" and placing the entire main castle under the protection of flowing water.
Naturally, such a structure could never appear
