The guests were flattered and surprised as they accepted the water and fruit. But the moment they took the gifts, the nymphs would giggle and transform into leaves or clear water before vanishing.

Soon, everyone had clear water and fruit in their hands. Those who were good-looking—regardless of gender—received more fruit. Some nymphs would even place the spring water that formed their bodies, or the berries growing on them, into the guests' bowls.

At first, the guests were somewhat nervous and did not dare eat the fairies' gifts.
