This was the capital of the Iris Flower Kingdom.
Anyone who knew nothing about Iris history would probably find the name hard to swallow—there were Child of the Moons everywhere in Iris Flower Kingdom, moving around at night, along with a whole host of assassins operating in the shadows, yet the capital was called this.
Where exactly was the light, may I ask?
In reality, the name's origin was deeply ironic—it was precisely the existence of the Child of the Moon and Hawkeye Organization that had caused the capital's crime rate to become so high.
At the time, the royal family had not yet been massacred, and the Child of the Moons had not yet seized complete control of power as they had now. The Hawkeye Organization of that era had no political power either. It was a purely civilian organization, much purer than it was now... Their assassinations of great artists, the rich, officials, and nobles were basically righteous executions carried out in accordance with "public opinion."
And in that era, when there were no streetlamps, the Iris Flower capital—with its abundance of artistic architecture—was far too favorable to assassins who could hide in the shadows. They could escape with ease, merge into the shadows among the buildings, and then flee through the capital's countless corners.
Although many assassins used this method to assassinate the Child of the Moons, many others also used the advantageous terrain to assassinate important political figures and celebrities.
At the same time, some gang members took advantage of the environment to steal, rob, kidnap, or murder. The Hawkeye Organization even had to take on part of the city's patrol and public-order duties... And even so, some crimes were still pinned on them.
After all, most people were certainly
