"Tarot Cards..."
Prodino cautiously took the ancient card.
As a Horus, he naturally knew quite a bit about this divination tool.
Although he was neither an astrologer nor a prophet of the Path of Adaptation, he could recite knowledge about Tarot Cards without even accessing the database in his mind.
"The Sun Card... Is this the Shepherd's prophecy about himself?"
Prodino pondered. "If upright, it means success and a beautiful future. Like the rising sun: joy, brilliance, light, and high spirits. It radiates enough light to dispel darkness, and as time passes, it will only get better. It means hope, ideals, and optimism. It's quite a good card.
"...But if reversed, it foretells a sunset heading downhill. Fatigue, exhaustion, decline, depression—the glory has already become the past, and visible darkness lies just ahead. Like an aging male lion, about to be replaced by a younger one. I don't know whether it's upright or reversed..."
An upright or reversed Tarot Card usually represented whether something was "ascending" or "descending," "moving forward" or "moving backward," and "moving inward" or "moving outward" within its concept.
That did not necessarily foretell good or evil—as with the reversed Sun and Chariot being bad, while the reversed Death and Devil were actually good. That was because the concepts of the Sun and Chariot leaned toward good, while the Devil and Death leaned toward evil.
There were also cases like the Tower, where both upright and reversed were bad... The Tower foretold the collapse and destruction of the tower that reached the heavens. Thus, upright meant "the future is about to be destroyed," while reversed meant "it has already been destroyed or is being destroyed, but at least the end is near."
