The Great Deviation of the Path of Adaptation

If the other Angels of the Path of Adaptation had not been so useless, the Path of Adaptation itself might have changed hands.

--The Lord of Scales and Feathers was actually in no better a position now than the Supreme Heaven had been back then.

Back then, humanity had gradually developed political order from its primitive state. Primitive power had transformed into authority... even the Giant King himself had developed a deviation.

The Lord of Scales and Feathers was the same.

Once the special environment brought about by the Supreme Heaven and the Beast Lord had completely ended, the definition of the Path of Adaptation in the new era had deviated.

But even the Lord of Scales and Feathers could not simply run over and say, "Your understanding of these professions is wrong."

The professions had already been born. How they were ultimately understood and used was the business of the transcenders in the Material Realm.

And even the Eternal Theocracy, which had a relatively deep understanding of the Nine Pillar Gods, held such an interpretation... In other places, this "misunderstanding" was probably even deeper.

When everyone recognized it this way, the definition of the Path would change accordingly. The Dream Realm affected the Material Realm, and the Material Realm affected the Dream Realm as well—the fact that the Flame Angel could be influenced and strengthened by the dwarves proved this.

The Flame Angel's original concepts had been raging fire and forging. Using flames to temper metal and turn minerals into "tools" and "weapons"—that had been one of the first powers humanity had gained from fire.

But later, as civilization developed, the things "flames" could accomplish also grew more numerous.

The Flame Angel had gradually become bound to concepts such as "production" and "factories," so her power naturally grew stronger.
