Several elderly elves were discussing something, their voices growing louder and louder.
An elven prisoner carrying a lunchbox happened to pass by, a glowing triangular shackle around his hand. Curious, he came over to take a few glances, then remembered that today was Pope Election Day. "Is it March 3 already?"
One of the "wardens" glanced at him and said irritably, "Yes. Have you finished the twenty batches of Source of Life reagents I asked you to make the day before yesterday?"
"Finished, finished... I was just about to hand them in..."
"Forget it, Gulamans."
Another elderly elf advised him, "Today is a good day. Give them half a day off."
The passing prisoner came over as well. Looking at the news on the screen, he asked curiously, "This is... the human Pope? Since when did humans have Cardinals?"
"--What, the human Pope?"
Not far away, some human prisoners carrying dishes heard the voice. Their spirits instantly lifted as they ran over to join the excitement. "Is there an amnesty? Can you give us an amnesty?"
At once, many human prisoners, Harpy prisoners, and goblin prisoners heard the news too. One after another, they tried to come over and see the news about the new Pope.
"None of your business. Go back and eat!"
A young warden shouted sternly, waving his Light Whip and driving everyone back. But the whips never struck anyone, merely cracking through the air. Thus, the prisoners were not terribly afraid. Instead, they laughed and retreated in a swarm.
The other wardens did not get angry either. They simply sipped their tea and cheerfully watched him drive the people away.
They discussed the matter leisurely. "It's pretty good to have a human become Pope. Besides, he's from Avalon... Doesn't Avalon count as our territory too?"
"Exactly.
