Hone Badger Sets Out!

March 7, afternoon.

Ms. Honey Badger was quietly reading in her residence in the Fifth Ring.

Although the Pope had personally pardoned her crimes in a sense, that did not mean she had been granted complete freedom. Her movements were still restricted, and two Pope Guards had been assigned to watch her. Aside from that, however, her requests would be fulfilled as much as possible.

Alice had also been informed of Honey Badger's situation. She would act as a messenger and bring the news, Honey Badger's handwritten letter, and the remaining payment Cardinal Loki had promised back to the Hawkeye Organization. By now, she had presumably arrived in Iris, delivering everything to the people who were supposed to receive it.

With nothing else to do, Honey Badger wanted to try walking the Path of Devotion. She had therefore asked the Pope Guards watching her for several books and was quietly studying them here.

For an Adapter, enduring loneliness and adapting to solitude were basic skills. Whether it was an assassin who maintained silence in the darkness, a hunter who stalked prey through the forest, or prophets and astrologers who had already seen the future but could not mention it to anyone... the Path of Adaptation always made people think of silence.

Without having to worry about the organization's financial situation or political circumstances, without personally taking on difficult missions with shoddy intelligence just to make money, and without having to clean up after those foolish young assassins... she instead felt that her mental state had improved considerably.
