Tenth Source River?
--A short while before this.
In the Eternal Theocracy, Iver, who had been asleep, unconsciously opened his eyes slightly for a moment before closing them again.
In the space between reality and the Dream Realm, Iver suddenly stopped flying freely.
He frowned slightly as he looked south. A trace of worry showed in his sun-brilliant eyes.
"What happened?"
--Just now, Aleister had completely severed contact with him.
Ever since Aleister had set foot on Stellaris soil, Iver had vaguely sensed that something was wrong.
When Aleister had still been on the ship, Iver and Aleister could communicate in real time at any moment... But after Aleister entered Leipzig City, their exchanges gradually became blurry.
If he had to describe it, it was the difference between two people staying on a voice call and chatting through a text window.
With the former, one could easily sense what the other person was doing, speak at any time, and hear the other person's condition and emotions through their words.
But the feedback from the latter was delayed... Not only could words fail to convey the information completely, one even had to wait for the other person to receive the message.
Like a priest hearing confession, Iver sensed Aleister's vulnerability and melancholy, and noticed her sentimentality and emotional intensity.
In fact, their connection had indeed weakened. Moreover, as time passed, it continued to weaken.
Until just now, when their connection was severed completely.
"How sad..."
Iver slowly closed his eyes and raised his head. His freely flying spirit hovered in the air as he spread his arms and embraced the sky. "So I have always been human after all. It isn't that I never feel sorrowful, just as I am not omnipotent."
In his half-open eyes shone a compassionate divine radiance.
