After Akropolis spoke, the pitch-black space gradually gained color and took shape.
But unlike all the previous Promotion Rituals, this "static preview image" was not as clear as the ones Erlini and Gawain had provided, nor as bizarre and misleading as Merlin's... nor was it like Terpsichore's, where she had merely danced for everyone without showing them anything.
The scene Akropolis displayed was extremely distorted.
The colors seemed to seep out of the void, carrying a slick and nauseating texture.
They were so vivid that they resembled hallucinations brought on by eating mushrooms... Not only did they strangely expand and contract with each breath, but the edges of the objects were also covered in layers of overlapping, colored afterimages. Looking closely, the surfaces of the objects seemed to be constantly changing, as though their forms had not yet been fully determined.
Even so, Iver recognized the scene immediately—
This was the banquet hall of the Silver and Tin Palace.
When he saw this familiar yet strange scene, Iver's heart skipped a beat.
There was a long table several times larger than the one in the Round Table Hall. It was a full seventy-seven meters long and could accommodate two hundred and twenty guests. Aside from the central long table, seven small round tables were arranged around it, allowing the hall to entertain more than three hundred people in total.
Only during extremely special celebrations... such as a monarch's wedding or the reception of important guests from other countries, would the banquet hall be used to hold a state banquet. At other times, the banquet hall was usually closed.
Although Iver often lived in the Silver and Tin Palace, he rarely came over here.
He recognized it instantly because of something else.
