It would have been nice if George were still here, Shafiya thought.
If possible, it would be best for the Grand Guardian to escort Isabel to the Theocracy while she tried to steal Queen's Blood herself. If she succeeded, everything would be fine; if she failed, at least Isabel could still survive safely.
But Grand Guardian George was nowhere near Glass Island.
Because the border had been in turmoil recently, the Grand Guardian was stationed at the Southern Fortress, commanding the navy in setting up a defensive line.
Besides, if the Grand Guardian were there, the two of them might not necessarily lose even if they fought two Fifth Levels on their home ground. At the very least, they could certainly retrieve the Queen's corpse... George also knew about Shadow of Avalon.
Or should she take a gamble?
First hide Isabel somewhere, then go snatch the corpse herself.
After obtaining Queen's Blood, immediately perform the Shadow of Avalon Ritual. She would gamble on being able to revive Lancelot before Isabel was found...
It seemed there was no other choice, Shafiya thought.
The most dangerous choice, the one most likely to go wrong, but also the one with the greatest rewards.
"If Meg were still alive, would she make this choice...?"
Shafiya murmured softly.
At this moment, she was actually somewhat lost.
Being able to react immediately and rescue Isabel was already the limit of what she could do.
But under the combined pressure of time, powerful enemies, and family, Shafiya felt her scalp go numb just thinking about it. She even felt her breathing tremble slightly.
If she arrived too late, or if the Queen's corpse had already been destroyed or transformed into an undead, or if Isabel were captured because she took too long... Avalon would lose its country.
